Gabriela Lazalde, MPH, is a graduate student researcher at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. She contributes to research related to the health of Latino youth and their families.

As a doctoral student at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s Community Health Sciences department, her work focuses on understanding how transportation affects health care access and overall health outcomes of marginalized populations in the United States. Her prior research has related to improving health outcomes across the life course through HPV vaccination, reducing youth exposure to cannabis and tobacco, and expanding health insurance coverage for undocumented youth.

Lazalde earned a master’s in public health from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s Department of Health Policy and Management and a bachelor’s degree in human biology and society from UCLA.
