Christopher Almario, MD, MSHPM, is a faculty associate at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. He is a physician and assistant professor-in-residence of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is also a co-leader for the Population Health Program at UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

His research interests include health services research, cost-effectiveness analysis, clinical informatics, patient-provider portals, and development and validation of technologies that improve health care delivery. He also has expertise in epidemiology and has used the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) to identify disparities in uptake of colorectal cancer screening and flu vaccination. His work has been published in Gastroenterology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and the International Journal of Medical Informatics, among others.

His education includes an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, a medical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, a gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA, and a graduate degree from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
