Legislators and their staff, as well as other interested members of the public, are invited to a special April 11 legislative briefing in Sacramento on the dramatic changes to health insurance coverage pending in California.

Dr. Gerald Kominski, director of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research and a noted expert on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) will provide lawmakers, advocates, media and other interested members of the public with an accessible yet in-depth look at one of the most significant and far-reaching laws ever to be implemented in California. Kominski will present the latest data on key populations, including those likely to benefit from insurance subsidies and the expansion of Medi-Cal, as well as those likely to remain uninsured.

Kominski will also discuss the Center's work producing legislative district data, as well as estimates on health care reform implementation for Covered California, the state's health insurance exchange, which will play a central role in coming years in facilitating the purchase of health insurance coverage for up to 2 million Californians.

The briefing is free and open to the public.  Please RSVP here by April 8th.
