Center releases new Legislative District Health Profiles

Why are obesity rates so high in my assembly district? Should we add more parks or community health clinics? What are we doing right and where can we improve? See how each of the Golden State's legislative districts (assembly, senate, and congressional) fares on various health issues with the Center's new, one-page Legislative District Health Profiles that use the most recent California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) data.
 
The new profiles, which for the first time customize a range of health statistics for each district, are a valuable tool for legislators to gauge the success of health programs and policies in their district and an easy way for constituents to understand health challenges unique to their district.

Demographic information, as well as data on asthma, diabetes, fast food and other health topics, is included in each one-page fact sheet. These new profiles join existing county health profiles, as well as health profiles for Los Angeles Service Planning Areas (SPAs) and San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) regions.
