San Francisco County

The City and County of San Francisco's Department of Public Health operates the Health Care Coverage Initiative (HCCI) program. The HCCI program is part of a comprehensive effort known as Healthy San Francisco. Healthy San Francisco provides universal, comprehensive, affordable health care to uninsured adults. Program participants have access to an array of comprehensive services (primary, specialty, diagnostic, pharmacy, emergency, hospital, etc.). Services are provided through a network consisting of public health clinics, San Francisco General Hospital and community behavioral health providers. Participants select a primary care medical home upon enrollment. The program's goals are to increase access to primary and preventive care, reduce episodic care, improve care coordination and improve health status.
