The UCLA Center for Health Policy Research (CHPR) invites you to a research symposium highlighting the innovations and impact that have made CHPR one of the nation’s leading health policy research centers and to envision the future of health policy through advances in research, evaluation, and community engagement.
In celebration of our 30th anniversary, this year’s E.R. Brown Symposium will feature panels and presentations with CHPR researchers, faculty, and staff. Come hear about the CHPR's:

Keynote address
Defending the Future of Health Policy Research
Dr. Aaron Carroll, President and CEO, AcademyHealth
Dr. Aaron Carroll is a nationally recognized thought leader, pediatrician, health services researcher, and a New York Times contributor. As president and CEO of AcademyHealth, he directs the leading national organization for health services researchers, policymakers, and health care practitioners and stakeholders that works to increase the understanding of methods and data used in the field. He is also the author of several books, including “The Bad Food Bible.”
The event will kick off with a welcome by UCLA CHPR Director Ninez A. Ponce, PhD, MPP, followed by a special message from Ritu Sadana, ScD, head of ageing and health at the World Health Organization (WHO).

The E.R. Brown Symposium, named after UCLA CHPR founder E. Richard "Rick" Brown, is an annual event that honors the life of Rick Brown,who spent his life building evidence and advocating for a health-care-for-all system and improving social factors that assure equitable opportunities for people to achieve the best health possible.
