PROJECT DATE: to

Using 5 years of pooled CHIS data, this study will examine American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) adults and their experience with serious or moderate psychological distress, functional impairment, suicide ideation and attempts, and access to mental health services. This project aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the mental health outcomes for the AIAN population by examining a more inclusive measure of AIAN that also captures AIAN who are Latino or multiracial. Examining the mental health of all AIAN adults including those who are also Latino or multiracial is a step towards creating equitable and just solutions to improve mental health services and resource provisions and ultimately, mental health outcomes of all AIAN in California.
