Using 2023 CHIS data, this study will examine LGBT adults and their experience with serious or moderate psychological distress, functional impairment, suicide ideation and attempts, and access to mental health services. This project aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the mental health outcomes for the LGBT adult population by disaggregating data for each group. Examining the mental health of LGBT at a heterogenous group is a step towards creating equitable and just solutions to improve mental health services and resource provisions and ultimately, mental health outcomes of LGBT adults in California.
