Experiences of Housing Discrimination in California: Analysis of the California Health Interview Survey

PROJECT DATE: to

This project will examine the prevalence, characteristics, and predictors of housing discrimination in California using CHIS 2023-2024 data. It will explore differences across different sociodemographic factors such as race/ethnicity, gender and sexual identity, socioeconomic status, disability, and geography. The study will also investigate the associations between housing discrimination and health outcomes, paying particular attention to the impact of intersectional identities and external stressors (e.g., adverse childhood experiences). Findings will be used to inform public policies aimed at promoting housing equity and addressing the negative consequences of housing discrimination.
