This project investigates the psychological impacts of extreme weather events on adolescents ages 12-17 years, focusing specifically on mediators and moderators of climate change-related anxiety. Young people face unique vulnerabilities during critical developmental periods, which may exacerbate mental health outcomes over their lifespan. This study sought to understand to what extent risk and protective factors play a role in distress related to climate change to inform prevention and targeted intervention efforts.
