Investigating Intergenerational Trauma: Do parental childhood experiences, along with other mediating or moderating factors, predict the health of their children?

PROJECT DATE: to

Our research seeks to investigate under-recognized mediators and moderators of risk in the intergenerational transmission of ACEs and define possible pathways of influence on children's health outcomes. We focus in particular on immigration's role in the transmission of trauma and explore whether health effects of trauma differ by parental immigration status. We plan on doing so by linking adult, teen, and child datasets to identify parent-child relationships and running appropriate statistical analyses (e.g. logistic regressions).
