This research aspires to inform how health policy and immigration policy may facilitate the integration of U.S. immigrants, including those with undocumented status. The first paper in the proposed dissertation will assess the mental health burden of U.S. immigrants in California, including non-citizen and undocumented individuals. The second paper will examine the role of community health centers in acting as bridges to mental health services as well as other social services for this vulnerable population. Finally, the last paper explores the spatial distribution of immigrant populations compared to mental health and community health services.
