Understanding equity in access: The role of immigration and family relationships in health services decision-making

PROJECT DATE: to

Decisions to delay or defer needed healthcare will differ based on immigration factors (language, visa status) and this association will be moderated by relational factors (family structure, caregiving responsibilities). Analysis by immigration factors will help us understand differences between immigrants and non-immigrants and across subgroups of immigrants by origin and visa status/type. Characterizing predictors of health services decisions by immigration status and relational factors will illuminate possible interaction effects, and if transnational relationships have a unique impact on decisions.
