The Veterinary Public Health Program (VPH) of the LA County Department of Public Health (DPH) created the 2020 Health Pets Health Families Initiative. Pets are part of the family and an integral aspect of HPFH is to foster health practices in both two- and four-legged residents of LA County. The study uses 2009 California Health Interview Survey adult overweight/obesity data.
