This report examines a range of indicators, from education to housing, to neighborhood safety, to food access, to criminal justice as well as health insurance, among other topics to explore how health inequities can be eliminated in communities of color. Using CHIS and other data, the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network developed a framework for examining health equity with a multicultural lens and used the data to highlight policy implications and recommendations. The data and analysis were made possible by contributions from Center researchers Ying-Ying Meng, senior research scientist, and Christina Lombardi, senior research associate. The California Pan-Ethnic Health Network wrote and funded this report. Data from the 2003, 2005 and 2007 California Health Interview Surveys were used in writing this report.
