Get More BHC Data
Hundreds of adults, teens, and children from each of the 14 Building Healthy Communities (BHC) sites participated in the 2009 and 2015 California Health Interview Survey (CHIS). Based on survey responses, BHC health profiles were produced, highlighting selected health topics and answering a variety of questions, such as: how many children have asthma? Or how many children were physically active last week? Or how many adults feel safe in their neighborhood?
These health profiles are a snapshot of community health, and present key health indicators important to the BHC initiative. Community estimates are compared to each BHC's respective county and the state.

Data presented in the Health Profiles are only a subset of the entire questionnaire. Additional information can be obtained on most topics from the CHIS questionnaires. Click here to get more information on data collection, and a list of all CHIS 2009 and CHIS 2015 topics.
With support from The California Endowment, the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research can provide additional data estimates about your community for many indicators in the CHIS questionnaires.
