The UCLA Center for Health Policy Research’s (CHPR) California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) today unveiled updates to its online health query tools, AskCHIS™ NE and AskCHIS™.
Whether used by policymakers interested in understanding the health needs of their diverse legislative districts, journalists covering inequities in mental health care across marginalized communities, community organizations advocating for a healthy food program, or just concerned Californians, AskCHIS™ Neighborhood Edition (NE) and AskCHIS™ have been providing insightful data for years.
AskCHIS™ NE has a revamped look and feel and is now located on the new UCLA CHPR website. The updated application still supports the same geographies — census tracts, ZIP codes, legislative districts, cities, and counties. Updates to the application were made to support updated geographic boundaries for the new 2022 small area estimates that will be released on Tuesday, July 30. Video tutorials are also available to help guide users on how to create tables and maps.
AskCHIS™ has been moved from its old location to the new UCLA CHPR website. All the same features in AskCHIS™ are available to users. This move was made in part to make upgrades to server and software configurations in the application.
Log onto AskCHIS™ NE and AskCHIS™.
Users will need to create a new account to access the updated tools. Users who already have an account for the new CHPR website should use that to log onto either system.
UCLA CHPR will host a data user training in August. Dates will be finalized and announced when the AskCHIS™ NE 2022 small area estimates are released on Tuesday, July 30.
