COVID-19 pandemic effects on California’s families with young children using CHIS 2020-2021

PROJECT DATE: to

This project aims to provide insights into the effects of prolonged and heightened pressures placed on parents and guardians taking care of young children during the pandemic. The project will contextualize the effects of COVID-19 in the household by examining the financial and employment stressors placed on adults in the household, parental involvement behaviors, and the presence of interpersonal conflict. We posit that the COVID-19 pandemic has created greater obstacles for parents of young children, especially for essential workers.
