Quantitative analysis of CHIS data will be used as part of a 3-paper dissertation that aims to understand the status and developmental correlates of mental health outcomes and help-seeking behaviors among Pilipino, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean American emerging adults (ages 18 to 25). Distributions of social determinants/developmental correlates (e.g., gender, immigration status, country of origin, educational status, health insurance, stigma, and exposure to hate crimes) will be examined in aggregated (gender, country of origin) and disaggregated analyses (ethnicity). Finally, relationships between social determinants/developmental correlates and mental health variables (i.e., Kessler 6, suicide ideation/attempt, mental health service utilization) will be examined through linear and/or logistic regression models.
