The California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) report looks at racial and ethnic disparities in California and ways to reduce them. Data used in the report are from multiple sources, including the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS). This compilation uses comparisons across measures to inform potential equity-guided improvement strategies (EGIS). An EGIS identifies specific populations at risk of suboptimal outcomes and delivers customized clinical interventions for them. CHIS data were used to illustrate race/ethnicity differences in  poverty level, health status, health insurance, source of care, delayed care, difficulty finding a doctor, routine checkup, children who are overweight and adolescents who are overweight and obese, and chronic conditions.
