Cardiovascular disease-related health behaviors and acculturation among US-born, African-born, and Caribbean-born Black Californians

PROJECT DATE: to

H1-Compared to African American (US-born Black persons), we expect significantly lower rates of smoking and binge drinking, significantly better diet quality, and higher rates of physical activity among foreign-born Black people (African-born and Caribbean-born) H2-Higher acculturation will be associated with higher rates of smoking and binge drinking, poorer diet quality and lower rates of physical activity. H3-Not enough evidence exists in the literature to advance hypotheses about the effect modification of the association of acculturation and health behaviors by sub-group.
