This research uses the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) to produce policy-focused research studies that will lead to increased knowledge and understanding among organizers and advocates, policy makers, local health departments, researchers and the general public on health issues in California. The project will provide data, analysis, and publications that inform community organizers and advocacy groups, policy-makers, community-based organizations, local health departments and the general public on the health of the Los Angeles region including by race/ethnicity and Asian and Latinx ethnic groups where sample sizes permit. We will provide comparisons with state-level estimates as well as other regions of California.
