Equity + Agency | From Earning the Vote to Claiming the Power - The Report on the Status of Women and Girls in California 2020

Summary

Published Date: August 19, 2020

The Report on the Status of Women and Girls in California™ has become a vital tool for gender equity advocates in California and across the country. Authors typically release this report every year during Women’s History Month at a public event, bringing together over 1,000 leaders and professionals to discuss the themes of the report to inspire positive change.

While the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the gathering this year, it has not stopped the authors from creating a virtual experience to engage women and men to take action.

California Health Interview Survey data from 2018 on health status and chronic disease among women are referenced in the chapter "Securing optimal health and wellness" in the 2020 report.

(Note: Although the 2020 report is not available online, the 2023 report attached here contains similar data from CHIS on topics such as sexual orientation; impact of COVID-19 on work experience; volunteer community work; emotional well-being; and delays seeking medical care.)
