Summary
The report summarizes how well Sutter County’s children and families are doing on key indicators that are predictors of health and well-being. The report shows areas of strength where the county is making progress and also identifies areas in need of improvement. The report, which uses California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) health indicators primarily for 2011-2012 as well as other sources of data, covers areas such as education, family economics, food access, physical activity, pregnancy/infancy, health, safety and social and emotional well-being. There are positive trends in reducing rates of child abuse and neglect, decreasing high school dropout and juvenile arrest rates, but many areas for improvement remain.
