Health Profile of California's Adolescents: Findings from the 2001 California Health Interview Survey

A new report from the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, "Health of California's Adolescents: Findings from the 2001 California Health Interview Survey," presents a public health profile of California adolescents ages 12-17 years. The report is based on data from the 2001 California Health Interview Survey. Topics covered in the report include:

adult supervision and parental monitoring;

adherence to safety standards;

diet and physical activity;

tobacco, alcohol and marijuana use; and

sexual activity, including pregnancy and disease prevention.

Many of the findings are shown by gender, age, income and race/ethnicity. This publication provides data that will be of interest to public health professionals who work with adolescents, educators, and parents. Production of this publication was funded by the Sierra Health Foundation.
